Lucas Moura opts for revolution at Paris Saint Germain over 'boring' Manchester

According to Brazilian sports website Globoesporte.com, Manchester United are set to lose out in their pursuit of Lucas Moura to Paris Saint Germain (PSG).

PSG have not only outbid United for the young prodigy but they also appear to have appealed more to the player himself for several reasons.

Playing with the French side will give the midfielder the opportunity to play alongside fellow Brazilian nationals Alex, Maxwell, Nene and Thiago Silva.

On top of this, Brazilian legend Leonardo, who has a close relationship with the player’s agent Wagner Ribeiro, is director of football for the club and is thought to have played a key role in persuading Lucas to choose Paris over Manchester.

Lucas is currently in England with the Brazilian Olympic squad who have placed a ban on any transfer activity during the competition, so no deal will be concluded for at least a week.

The French side have already filled their quota of non-European signings for the year so the 19-year-old will not move until January if a transfer is finalised.

To add insult to injury for Sir Alex Ferguson, Lucas also reportedly prefers a move to Paris because he has heard from athletes who live and work in Manchester that it is a ‘boring’ city.
