Gary Neville hailed Romelu Lukaku for his “complete” performance against Arsenal as the £97.5million striker scored in Chelsea’s 2-0 win at the Emirates.

Lukaku bullied Arsenal’s defence in a one-sided London derby on Sunday, with the Belgian holding off Pablo Mari easily before finishing the move he started 15 minutes in to put Chelsea on their way to victory.

The former Inter Milan forward proved too much for Arsenal to handle, and Reece James added Chelsea’s second 20 minutes later to offer Thomas Tuchel’s Blues a solid platform for the second half.

Lukaku almost had his second late on, but Bernd Leno denied him with a stunning one-handed save off a powerful header - but the forward’s display was still enough to easily earn the man of the match award.

Sky Sports pundit Neville heaped praise on Lukaku when awarded him man of the match, saying: “It’s not too difficult today, it is going to Lukaku.

“A complete centre-forward performance, from start to finish.

“Not just his goal, but his all-round play has been the difference between the two teams.”
