Luke Shaw thinks this could be the season Manchester United finally get their hands back on the FA Cup.

Although United share with Arsenal the record for the most Cup wins (11) they have not lifted the trophy since 2004.

United were given a scare in their fourth-round tie at Cambridge — drawing 0-0 last month — but are favourites to beat the League Two side in tonight’s replay.

Should they progress they will face either League One Sheffield United or Preston and be in a fifth round missing Chelsea and Manchester City.

Striker Wayne Rooney has been speaking to Shaw about his desire to win his first FA Cup medal and the defender believes the draw has opened up nicely.

“Wazza hasn’t won it and he’s definitely going to want to win it this year,” said Shaw.

“We’ve been quite lucky with the draw. We’ve picked up teams in the lower leagues so it could be our year, especially now when you look at the teams that have been knocked out. There are not so many of the big teams left and that is a positive.”
