Man City XI vs West Ham: Haaland starts - Starting lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest today

Pep Guardiola has chosen to start Erling Haaland and Jack Grealish for Manchester City’s Premier League trip to West Ham.

The England winger’s star performance at London Stadium late last season helped secure City a vital point in the race for the title, and he started last weekend’s Community Shield clash with Liverpool.

However, despite a strong pre-season, Grealish underwhelmed and was substituted for Phil Foden. The pair will both start at London Stadium with Riyad Mahrez and Bernardo Silva benched.

At the back, Aymeric Laporte remains absent after undergoing knee surgery. Guardiola continues with Nathan Ake ahead of John Stones in the centre of defence while Kalvin Phillips continues to wait for his debut to come off the bench.

Manchester City XI: Ederson; Walker, Dias, Ake, Cancelo; Rodri, De Bruyne, Gundogan; Foden, Haaland, Grealish.

Subs: Ortega Moreno, Phillips, Stones, Alvarez, Silva, Mahrez, Palmer, Lewis, Wilson-Esbrand.
