The new Premier League season may only be two games old, but City's impressive performance will be seen as the reason Pellegrini's side are favourites to snatch the title from Chelsea after the home side battled with a superb defensive and attacking display.

City first took the lead through Sergio Aguero - who was brilliant throughout the match - after the striker controlled David Silva's ball with his chest and drove in a low shot past Asmir Begovic just after the hour mark.

The home side then secured all three points in the second period after captain Vincent Kompany headed in City's second while Fernandinho netted a superb low shot from outside the area to end the contest 3-0.

While many of City's players performed brilliantly to give a demonstration of City's title credentials this season, Jose Mourinho will be unhappy with several of his squad. But who stood out?
