13 March 2013

Ashley Young is desperate to join the list of Manchester United trophy winners.

Other than the Community Shield, which he lifted in his first competitive game for United in 2011 following his £18million switch from Aston Villa, the 27-year-old is yet to claim any silverware in his time at Old Trafford.

“I joined the club to win trophies,” said Young. “When you move to a club like United, you look at the trophy cabinet and what they’ve won.

Injury has limited Young to just 19 appearances in his second season at Old Trafford. He said: “I have had a fair few injuries this season. That has been disappointing.”
