Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin is coming to terms with the fact he does not play in every game under Louis van Gaal.

The France international was a mainstay in the Southampton midfield last term but faces a scrap for position at Old Trafford.

Schneiderlin has started six of United's eight Premier League fixtures this season but was forced to settle for a spot among the substitutes during the recent 3-0 defeat to Arsenal at Emirates Stadium.

The £24million signing was unused as Michael Carrick and Bastian Schweinsteiger were favoured by Van Gaal, but Schneiderlin remains upbeat and accepts the manager's rotational policy.

"I have played a lot of matches. The coach made a lot of changes in attack and even in midfield and you have to get used to it," he said.
