Man Utd and PSG charged by Uefa after Champions League last 16 clash

Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have both been charged by Uefa after incidents during last night’s Champions League last 16 clash at Old Trafford.

United have been charged with throwing of objects and blocking of stairways in breach Uefa safety and security regulations.

PSG midfielder Angel Di Maria, who was booed by the home crowd throughout his return to his former club, had a bottle thrown at him as he went to take a second-half corner.

The French side have been charged with four offences, including setting off fireworks and throwing of objects.

The case is to be heard on February 28, a week before the fixture’s second leg.

PSG hold a 2-0 advantage after the first leg, thanks to goals from French centre half Fresnel Kimpembe, and his international teammate Kylian Mbappe.

United will be without star midfielder Paul Pogba for the second leg after he was sent off for a second bookable offence late on.
