Martin Jol wants Fulham revamp

Martin Jol wants to rebuild his Fulham squad this summer to challenge for a top-half finish in the Premier League.

Fulham ended the season in 12th place after yesterday’s 3-0 win against Swansea but Jol’s players picked up only one point from their previous seven matches.

“I’m ambitious, like Fulham are, to play in the top six, top seven, top eight,” said Jol. “When I came here we had a fantastic team and got 52 points.

“You need ambitious players and that is what I want. If eight or nine players leave, then we’ll need five or six.

“The important thing is that we have to build a new team because we have a big amount of players on loan. I used eight players in central midfield [this season] and that is a lot for a Premier League team.”
