Mauricio Pochettino to seek Manchester United job as ex-Spurs boss faces PSG axe after Champions League exit

Mauricio Pochettino is facing the sack at Paris Saint-Germain after their Champions League capitulation against Real Madrid last night.

There have been calls in the French media for Pochettino to go immediately — and the former Tottenham coach is now set to seek to become the next Manchester United manager.

He is high on United’s shortlist and before last night there had been suggestions that he would leave PSG at the end of the season.

Pochettino was under pressure to do well in the Champions League and their exit last night means PSG are less likely to fight to keep him.

“The next few weeks are not going to be easy,” said Pochettino. “It’s simply impossible to discuss about it now, it is not the right moment. We are really disappointed.”
