Mauricio Pochettino claims Tottenham winning the title in their final year at the old White Hart Lane would be the greatest moment in the club’s history.
Spurs travel to Manchester City tomorrow sitting second in the Premier League and their Argentine manager insists they are ready to fight for their first domestic title since the Double success of 1961.
He also believes their last season at the club’s home since 1899 is inspiring Spurs as they bid to end a 56-year wait to become champions.
Asked what it would mean to win the title in their farewell season at the stadium, Pochettino told Standard Sport: “It will be amazing. The most important thing in Tottenham’s history.”
Speaking as Tottenham released new images of their new 61,000-capacity stadium, he added: “This season, in every game, we can feel how our fans feel excited to spend time at White Hart Lane. You can imagine how tough it will be in a few months when [the old stadium] does not exist. It will be very tough for our fans, for the people who love Tottenham.

“It is an extra energy that we feel. The way we are playing this season at White Hart Lane, you can see that we are warriors... that you defend your home, your house."
