Mesut Ozil will miss Germany's game against Brazil after returning to Arsenal early from international duty.

Standard Sport understands the midfielder has flown back to London from Dusseldorf, where he helped Germany secure a 1-1 draw against Spain on Friday night.

It is believed that Ozil - who played the entirety of the friendly - is being rested by Germany manager Joachim Low and will return to Arsenal training next week.

As Ozil returned to London on Friday night, the rest of his Germany teammates boarded a flight to Berlin where they will begin preparing for their upcoming game against Brazil, who beat Russia 3-0 away on Friday.

Arsenal, who currently sit in sixth place in the Premier League standings, take on Stoke City at the Emirates Stadium in their next game on Sunday April 1.

Mesut Ozil has signed a new contract with Arsenal

Speaking to reporters ahead of the Spain game, Low told reporters: "I think tomorrow the structure will be around Jerome, Mats, Mueller, Kroos and Ozil who will start.

"I am not planning to play the same players in both matches. I want to try things out."

Alongside Ozil, Muller - who scored the equaliser against Spain - has also returned back to his club.
