Michail Antonio has signed a new contract at West Ham, extending his stay at the club to 2020.

The 26-year-old, one of Slaven Bilic’s top performers last season, arrived from Nottingham Forest last summer for £7million, signing a deal that initially ran until 2019.

Antonio scored eight goals in 26 Premier League appearances last season, including the winner in the Boleyn Ground’s final derby between West Ham and Tottenham.

He also found the net in Upton Park’s final match, a 3-2 victory over Manchester United, and is expected to remain a key component of Bilic’s side next season.

“I am delighted to have signed a new contract,” Antonio said. “I am happy that the manager and the chairman have showed their belief in me to give me a new deal.

“I have always believed in my own ability and when I am given the opportunity I will take it and hopefully I have showed that.

“I had to be patient when I first arrived, but once I got the chance I never looked back and hopefully I can now push on and do even better than what I did last season.”

A former Tooting & Mitcham player Antonio filed in at right-back and as a wing-back for Bilic, allowing West Ham to change between a back three and four at will.
