Tomas Rosicky has dismissed suggestions he could leave Arsenal this summer.

The Czech midfielder, 32, has been linked with a return to former club Sparta Prague but expects to stay at Emirates Stadium following talks with Arsene Wenger.

“After the season I spoke with the coach and Arsenal want me to stay,” said Rosicky, who has one year remaining on his contract.

“Of course you never know what can happen but I should be staying. A return to Sparta Prague? No, not yet. I know nothing about me not staying. The coach has told me he counts on me.”

Rosicky (above) endured another injury-hit season, making just 16 appearances after returning from Euro 2012 with an Achilles problem, but he played an important role as Arsenal qualified for the Champions League.

“I am pleased that I contributed to the turnaround after the trouble earlier in the season,” said Rosicky.

“It is just a pity that I did not start playing again sooner.”
