Millwall named Football League's Family Club of the Year for matchday and community work

Millwall were named Family Club of the Year at the Football League awards last night.

The club was recognised for its matchday activities and work in the local community.

Millwall chief executive Steve Kavanagh said: “This club perhaps has to work harder than any other and it is very pleasing to be given this award.”

Brentford stalwart Kevin O’Connor received the Sir Tom Finney Award, which recognises talent, loyalty and commitment.

O’Connor spent his 16-year playing career at Griffin Park, where he now coaches the B team.

Leyton Orient defender Myles Judd was named League Two Apprentice of the Year.
