Chelsea will assess N’Golo Kante when he returns after suffering a thigh injury while playing for France.

Kante limped off during the 1-0 win over Bulgaria on Friday and will miss their final World Cup qualifier against Belarus on Tuesday. France coach Didier Deschamps said: “It is a muscular problem behind the thigh.”

The injury is a concern for Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte.

Kante has played every minute in the Premier League this season but he is a doubt for their game against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The injury to Kante could see Danny Drinkwater make his Chelsea debut against Palace.

Drinkwater has yet to play for the club since his £35million move from Leicester.
