N'Golo Kante's £32m Chelsea switch 'sad' but Leicester stars ignoring transfer speculation, says Wes Morgan

Leicester's Wes Morgan was disappointed to see N'Golo Kante depart for Chelsea but won't let it dampen his excitement ahead of the new season.

The Foxes will attempt to defend their Premier League title next term, but must do so without Kante, who completed a £32million switch to Chelsea earlier this month.

Kante's transfer to Stamford Bridge came after Jamie Vardy rejected a long-term deal with Arsenal in favour of improved terms at the King Power Stadium, while Riyad Mahrez's future remains up in the air amid interest from the Gunners.

Mahrez is reportedly meeting to discuss a new deal with Leicester's owners while out in Los Angeles on the club's pre-season tour, but Morgan is ignoring speculation surrounding Leicester's best players.

"I'm sure it's expected, we won the league and the bigger teams are going to try and poach our best players," he told ESPN.

"You know, as a player, you can't really take much notice to that. We just have to do what we do best. Get on the training field, try and train and keep focus on our job.

"Yeah, there is going to be speculation and it's sad to see N'Golo Kante go, but we've got new players in now and everyone is settled in well and we're just training hard and looking forward to the season."
