Nathan Ake has dismissed suggestions he could cut short his loan spell at Bournemouth and return to Chelsea.

The 21-year-old belatedly made his full debut for the Cherries last weekend and scored the winning goal against Stoke after agreeing a season-long switch to the south coast in the summer.

Ake had played just 13 minutes in the Premier League prior to his appearance at the Britannia Stadium, leading to speculation he could be recalled by Chelsea in January and head elsewhere on loan in search of first-team football.

But the defender, who can also play in midfield, said: “I don’t know where that (Chelsea story) comes from. I ignore it and focus on what I have to do in training and focus on Bournemouth.”

"This is the feeling you want after games you’ve played. You win and go home on the coach feeling happy. That’s what I’ve missed and now it’s back so I’m delighted."
