New Fulham deal for Simon Davies

11 April 2012

Simon Davies has signed a new three-year contract at Fulham.

The 30-year-old midfielder, who retired from international football with Wales earlier this month, is now tied to Craven Cottage until the summer of 2013.

Davies, who joined Fulham from Everton in January 2006, was hampered by a foot injury last term and contract talks were put on hold until he proved his fitness.

"It's great now that it's finally done," he told his club's official website, www.fulhamfc.com.

"We've been talking for a few months. I've loved my time here and it's been great the last few years.

"I'm just excited for the future and hopefully I'll finish my career here."

Davies was named Fulham's Player of the Year for the 2007-08 season and most recently scored the pivotal goal in their comeback victory over Hamburg in last term's Europa League semi-final at Craven Cottage.

He also netted the equaliser in the 2-1 final defeat against Atletico Madrid.
