The 'first image' of Manchester United's third kit for the 2020-21 season has been widely mocked by supporters online.

United's home and away jerseys for next term had already circulated online ahead of their official launch, and now a third shirt has been snapped.

The black and white Adidas strip has been dubbed the 'zebra design' and compared to recent shirts from both Juventus and Newcastle by fans on social media.

With black stripes covering a white base, the shirt also has a stencil-style club bade with red Adidas logo and iconic stripes running over the shoulders.

The proposed shirt retains US car giant Chevrolet as its principle sponsor, with the partnership due to run out in 2021, while American manufacturer Kohler have sleeve sponsorship rights.

United fan Matthew Revill wrote: "Welcome to the zoo."

Another posted a picture of a zebra crossing, adding: "Hopefully when we are wearing this kit we wont get run over."

But the shirt hasn't been given a universal thumbs-down. Brad said: "I need to see the full shirt because it doesn’t look too bad from that."

Jacob added: "That actually looks decent."
