Manchester United fans have given the 'official' new kit for the 2020-21 Premier League season the seal of approval after fresh images surfaced online.

An earlier leak was likened to a bus seat, with the traditional red base splattered with a pattern of small black and yellow block lines.

The design had a white collar and sleeve trim with the iconic Adidas three stripes only stretching across the shoulders, rather than all the way down the arm.

But new images suggest the initial design was exaggerating the visual impact of the yellow and black flecks across the front of the jersey.

The impact of the design, which was picked up by Footy Headlines, is much more subtle.

Fan account @ManUnitedZone_ tweeted: "Official: The Manchester United 20-21 Home Kit!."

Responding to the new pictures, @FrancisUtd_ said: "Damn those bus seats really had us all scared."

@ReturnToWorkFFS added: "So they scrapped that bus seat huh."

The proposed Nike strip retains US car giant Chevrolet as its principle sponsor, with the partnership due to run out in 2021, while American manufacturer Kohler have sleeve sponsorship rights.
