Newcastle v Chelsea team news: Juan Mata and David Luiz keep their places

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has turned to his big guns once again but saved space for Juan Mata and David Luiz who impressed in Tuesday's League Cup win over Arsenal.

Mourinho, who made 10 changes for the Capital One Cup victory over the Gunners in midweek, has made nine more as Petr Cech, Ashley Cole, Branislav Ivanovic, John Terry, Ramires, Frank Lampard, Oscar, Eden Hazard and Fernando Torres return to the starting line-up.

Alan Pardew leaves Hatem Ben Arfa on the bench while Shola Ameobi retains his place, with Davide Santon, Yohan Cabaye and Loic Remy returning after Wednesday night's cup defeat by Manchester City.

Newcastle: Krul; Debuchy, Williamson, Yanga-Mbiwa, Santon; Sissoko, Tiote (c), Cabaye, Gouffran; Shola Ameobi, Remy Subs: Elliot, Tavernier, Anita, Obertan, Sammy Ameobi, Ben Arfa, Cisse.
