Barcelona boss Luis Enrique refused to discuss Manchester United's reported interest in Neymar after his side's 1-0 victory against Athletic Bilbao on Sunday evening.

The Catalan giants started the defence of their La Liga title with three points, courtesy of Luis Suarez's strike, but the Brazilian forward missed the game as he is suffering from the mumps.

Speculation surrounding the 23-year-old is rife after he was linked with a move to Old Trafford and Enrique quashed any suggestion that there had been contact between United and the Camp Nou.

"I heard Neymar and another club and I am no longer interested in this question.

"Talking about Neymar and other clubs doesn't interest me. I don't talk about rumours. I focus on what happens in my team," he insisted.

Neymar is a pivotal figure in Barcelona's front line and was the joint top scorer in last season's Champions League with 10 goals; the same total as both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

The forward has three years remaining on his current contract and the rumours regarding United's interest could be used to negotiate an improved deal with his current employers.
