Owen Coyle: No need to sell Gary Cahill

11 April 2012

New Bolton manager Owen Coyle insists he is not under pressure to sell Gary Cahill to free up transfer funds.

Cahill has a string of admirers after forcing his way into Fabio Capello's England squad, but Coyle is determined to maintain the services of the Aston Villa defender with the team locked in a relegation battle.

He told the Bolton News: "I don't have to sell anyone to generate a transfer budget.

"I believe that Gary Cahill, if he shows the qualities he has, can make the squad for the World Cup.

"That's personal motivation for him. He is a top player and hopefully we will see him at his very best."
