The agent of Chelsea defender Papy Djilobodji has insisted the Senegalese will "fight to play" for the club despite his limited game time so far this season.

The Blues signed Djilobodji from French club Nantes on transfer deadline day after failing to land their first-choice target John Stones from Everton this summer.

The 27-year-old has gone on to play just one minute of football for the club, however, which came in Chelsea's 4-1 win over Walsall in the Capital One Cup in September.

But despite his failure to break into Mourinho's side, Djilobodji’s agent Mouhamed Gueye has insisted his client will do all he can to play more for the champions over the festive period.

Gueye said: "Papy will fight to play. He has a lot to offer."

Djilobodji was rumoured to be a target for Italian side Lazio recently, but Gueye quashed any notion the defender could leave the Premier League for Serie A in January.

Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, he said: "I do not know anything about a possible transfer of Papy to Lazio in January.

"From Rome right now I have not received any demonstration of interest to my client, let alone a phone call."
