Arsenal have confirmed that former captain Per Mertesacker will be assisting Freddie Ljungberg during the latter's spell as interim boss.
Ljungberg - an Arsenal legend as a player and former Under-23s manager - had been serving as the Gunners' assistant first-team coach before being handed the senior managerial reins on Friday following the dismissal of Unai Emery after only 18 months.
The Swede will begin his stint in charge on Sunday as eighth-place Arsenal - without a win in their last seven matches and already eight points adrift of the top four - travel to face Norwich City in a Premier League clash at Carrow Road.
Little was known about the make-up of Ljungberg's coaching staff, until Arsenal revealed on Saturday that Mertesacker would be helping the interim head coach during his time at the helm.
"Per Mertesacker will be supporting interim head coach Freddie Ljungberg in the short-term," the club revealed via their official Twitter account.
"Per will be in the dugout at Carrow Road tomorrow."

Mertesacker is the current manager of the Arsenal academy, a role he took up in the summer of 2018 after ending a 15-year playing career.
The former German international and 2014 World Cup winner spent seven years as a player with the club, making 221 appearances and winning the FA Cup on three occasions.
