Platini admits Champions League final prices are a rip-off

Michel Platini today admitted the tickets for the Champions League Final at Wembley are too high but UEFA ruled out any possibility of a reduction.

The UEFA president moved the showpiece to Saturday for the first time last season to encourage families to attend, but with the cheapest of the 56,000 tickets on sale for the May 28 clash ranging from £150-£300 - plus a £26 booking fee for each ticket - European football's governing body have been accused of marginalising all but the most affluent fans.

Platini said: "It's good that we have been alerted about it and we are going to look at it again in the future." He added that the pricing "isn't brilliant".

But, despite Platini saying the pricing structure "isn't brilliant", UEFA general secretary Gianni Infantino said today: "The ticket prices for Wembley will not change - the ticket sales have already started and the president expressed his opinion about that."
