Premier League 2016/17 fixtures: Chelsea to kick off against West Ham as Arsenal face Liverpool

Antonio Conte’s reign as Chelsea manager will begin with a London derby at Stamford Bridge when his side takes on West Ham United.

The Premier League has today revealed the fixture list for the 2016/17 season, with Chelsea’s clash with the Hammers the highlight of an opening day that will see a host of new managers look to start brightly.

Chelsea were winless against the Hammers last season, an Andy Carroll-inspired victory at Upton Park in October last year setting Jose Mourinho, sent off during the game, on course to lose his job before the end of 2015. The two sides’ other meeting was equally controversial, a late Cesc Fabregas penalty securing a 2-2 draw for the Blues.

Elsewhere Arsene Wenger begins his 20th full season at the Arsenal helm with a challenging home meeting against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, giving the Emirates faithful a first chance to see summer signing Granit Xhaka in action.

Their north London rivals Tottenham kick off the final season at White Hart Lane, in its current form, on the second week of the season – their campaign begins away to Everton, who on Tuesday announced former Southampton boss Ronald Koeman will be their new manager.

That means the opening day of the season will see a clash of former St Mary’s bosses, with great expectations following both Mauricio Pochettino and Koeman next season.

Champions Leicester begin their title defence away from the King Power Stadium – they will face newly-promoted Hull City.

Crystal Palace’s season begins at home to West Brom whilst Watford kick off away to Southampton.

It is the start of a tough run for Walter Mazzarri, whose first five Premier League fixtures also include home games with Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United in addition to a trip to the Olympic Stadium to take on West Ham.

There are two new managers in Manchester and both Pep Guardiola (City) and Jose Mourinho (United) will fancy their chances of starting life at their clubs with three points, the former hosts Sunderland and the latter travels to Bournemouth.

Crystal Palace will travel to Old Trafford on the final day of the season whilst Arsenal will play host to Everton, Chelsea welcome Sunderland, West Ham visit Burnley and Spurs travel to Hull.
