Ander Herrera admits PSG 'feel like s**t' after losing Champions League Final to Bayern Munich

Ander Herrera has admitted that Paris Saint-Germain "feel like s**t" after losing the Champions League Final, but stated an immediate ambition for the club to return to European football's showpiece fixture.

PSG - who scooped another quadruple of French trophies in 2019/20 - reached the final of the continent's premier club competition in Lisbon after topping Group A and securing knockout wins over Borussia Dortmund, Atalanta and RB Leipzig.

Despite their domestic dominance over recent years, that was the first time that the Parisians have reached the final after four successive quarter-final losses between 2013-16 were followed by three high-profile last-16 exits in a row.

Indeed, their semi-final appearance against Leipzig marked a first last-four appearance in the competition for 25 years.

PSG's wait for a first major European triumph goes on, however, with Kingsley Coman's header from a Joshua Kimmich cross just shy of the hour mark at Benfica's Estadio da Luz on Sunday night securing a 1-0 win for dominant Bundesliga champions Bayern, who lifted their sixth European Cup and first since 2013.

It was the first time in 35 European matches that PSG had failed to score, with Herrera giving an honest insight after the full-time whistle into exactly how the players were feeling.

“We feel like s**t," he told French outlet RMC Sport. "We need to think, reflect. We achieved something really considerable, we built something considerable for the club and the supporters. There are no words for anyone.

"Tomorrow, we will have to think about what we have done, the things we could have done together. It will be hard to sleep, speak even."

The former Manchester United midfielder - who left Old Trafford to sign a five-year contract at PSG last summer - added: "We are going to try to come back to the final. We are not going to bin what we have done. We had a lot of chances, more than them I think.

"It is a final, if you don’t score… We had five or six chances but in return they had a lot of quality. We need to stick together, and start from Saturday to chase the next dream.”
