Radja Nainggolan to Chelsea: Roma to offer Belgian new deal in bid to block Stamford Bridge move

Roma will offer Radja Nainggolan an improved contract in a bid to prevent him from going to Chelsea.

The Serie A club have rejected two offers from Chelsea for the Belgium midfielder, the last of which was worth up to £27.4million.

But they still face a battle to keep him because the Blues are continuing their pursuit.

Nainggolan has confirmed he has met new Chelsea coach Antonio Conte, who will take charge after his role with Italy ends at Euro 2016, for talks over a move.

The 28-year-old admits he is seriously considering playing for Conte and Chelsea but wants a pay rise. He is on £70,000 a week at Roma and Chelsea will increase that to at least £100,000 a week.

But Roma are determined not to lose another star player after Miralem Pjanic joined Juventus for £25.4m this week and are prepared to increase Nainggolan’s salary.

They are planning to hold discussions with his agent after Euro 2016, which is also when Chelsea hope to conclude a deal.
