Barcelona and Real Madrid are into the hat for the Champions League knockout stages once again.

Ernesto Valverde's side went unbeaten in Group F, being held by Borussia Dortmund away and Slavia Prague in front of their own fans, but otherwise coasting into the last-16 stage.

Lionel Messi has made it clear his desire to win the Champions League again soon having gone almost five years without lift the trophy - the longest drought of his career.

Real Madrid had a tougher time in Group A, being humbled 3-0 by Paris Saint-Germain in matchday one before a couple of frustrating draws saw them settle for a runners-up spot.

Therefore, their task is now much harder without a seeding for the last-16 stage. The draw takes place at 11am GMT on Monday, 16 December.

Barcelona's possible opponents

Tottenham, Atalanta, Napoli, Lyon and Chelsea.

Real Madrid's possible opponents

Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Juventus, Liverpool and RB Leipzig.
