Here we take a look at what he's said upon signing a new contract:

July 28, 2008

On moving from Spurs to Liverpool for a fee of around £20.3 million: "I would specifically like to thank chairman Daniel Levy for understanding, that, as a fan, joining Liverpool is a lifelong dream of mine and one I couldn't let pass me by."

February 1, 2010

After returning to Tottenham, Keane then moved to Celtic on loan and said: "The club is massive. I am a Celtic fan and did not have to ask much about it. I always wanted to play for Celtic and it works for all parties."

August 16, 2011

Today it was announced that Keane had completed his move to Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy for a reported fee of £3.5 million, with the length of contract yet to be announced.

Keane said: "I have always wanted to come and play in MLS so it's the perfect combination for me and a dream come true."
