Robert Lewandowski believes Arsenal won't "get many chances" if Bayern Munich perform to their best in this week's Champions League clash.

Bayern welcome Arsenal to the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night having crossed paths with the Gunners four times in the last five years.

The Bundesliga side have lost just two of those recent encounters and also dumped Arsene Wenger's side out at the last-16 stage for the past two seasons.

Carlo Ancelotti's side warmed up for the game with an underwhelming victory over Ingolstadt but Lewandowski, who has scored five Champions League goals this season, is convinced Bayern can get the better of their Premier League rivals again.

“The win in Ingolstadt was very important. Now we’re focused on the Champions League," he told Bayern's official website.

“Everyone’s waiting for this game. It will be a big challenge for us. I hope we can deliver a good performance and play really well here in Munich.

“Arsenal have very good footballers. They know what it means to play in the Champions League.

“We need to concentrate on ourselves. If we play our game then Arsenal probably won’t get many chances. But we must play well from back to front," Lewandowski added.

Arsenal have not progressed further than the last-16 since the 2009/10 campaign while Bayern have not failed to reach at least the semi-finals in the last six years.
