Russell Slade hopes to stop slide

When Leyton Orient became the first team to win at Charlton this season the future looked bright for manager Geraint Williams and his hard-working side.

That was back on 25 January and they were unbeaten for another four games. But from late February came an alarming slump of six defeats in nine games that cost Williams his job last Saturday.

Russell Slade was the unanimous choice to pick up the pieces with a contract to the end of the season with Orient only out of the bottom four on goal difference.

Slade saved Brighton last term and said: "I think we need three wins to give us a fighting chance."
