Liverpool forward Sadio Mane is in line to make a surprisingly early comeback away to West Ham on Saturday.

The Senegal international returned to training a fortnight ahead of schedule on Thursday and manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that he could play around 25 minutes at the London Stadium.

“Sadio trained with the team for the first time yesterday and looked really good,” Klopp said.

“We will see how he reacts. He could be ready for 20/25 minutes.”

Philippe Coutinho (adductor) has been ruled out but Georginio Wijnaldum (ankle) and Dejan Lovren (thigh) will undergo late fitness tests.

West Ham, who lost 4-0 to Liverpool when the two sides last met at the London Stadium in May, will not welcome Mane’s return as they battle a crisis of defensive numbers that has left them without a recognised right back.

Pablo Zabaleta is suspended whilst James Collins (ankle), Jose Fonte (foot), Sam Byram (thigh) and Michail Antonio (hamstring) are all injured.
