San Marino score first away goal in World Cup qualifying for 15 years and Norwegian TV pundits can't handle shame

Historic moment: Norwegian TV pundits react as Mattia Stefanelli scores

San Marino scored their first away goal in World Cup qualifying for 15 years as they fell to a 4-1 defeat to Norway on Tuesday.

Mattia Stefanelli pounced on a loose ball to equalise for the visitors shortly after the break, sparking wild scenes, but the minnows could not hold out for their first competitive point in just under two years.

Adama Diomande restored Norway's advantage before Martin Samuelsen and Joshua King added gloss to the scoreline late on, but the shame of becoming the first home side to concede a World Cup qualifying goal to San Marino since 2001 was etched across the faces of those watching from the studio of Norwegian TV station VGTV.

The quartet of pundits covering the game look on in disbelief as Stefanelli gathers possession before firing his shot into Rune Jarstein's top corner.

As the goalscorer wheels away to soak up the adulation amid a mass of bodies in the San Marino technical area, one Norwegian pundit shouts: "Turn the lights off, I'm going home!"

San Marino have only scored three goals in competitive international competition since 2008 and ended a 61-game losing streak with a 0-0 draw against Estonia in European qualifying in November 2014.

They have since lost 11 games in succession, shipping 45 goals. Watch the historic strike below.
