Spurs 'attempt to hijack Gary Cahill's Arsenal move'

11 April 2012

Tottenham have reportedly made another attempt to stop Gary Cahill joining Arsenal by offering four players in a swap deal.

Robbie Keane, Jermaine Jenas, Alan Hutton and Sebastien Bassong have all been put forward as Spurs boss Harry Redknapp looks to strengthen his defence with the Bolton man, according to the Daily Mail.

Talks between Cahill and Arsenal are at an advanced stage with the Gunners thought to be ready to meet the 25-year-old's £17m release clause, although a player-plus-cash offer is also thought to have been discussed.
