Tottenham are set to miss out on Croatian youngster Tin Jedvaj after Dinamo Zagreb accepted an approach from AS Roma for the 17-year-old.

The defender had been the subject of interest from Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas (above) and was expected to complete a move to White Hart Lane alongside highly-rated compatriot Alen Halilovic.

The Croatian champions’ club president, Mirko Barisic, had claimed a deal for the pair’s move to London was ‘all agreed’, but speculation has cooled, prompting interest from Roma.

Dinamo have since accepted a €5 million (£4.3m) offer from the Serie A outfit and the player has flown out to Italy to strike terms, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The centre-back scored once in 13 appearances last term, after coming through the youth academy at Zagreb.
