Fans of Tottenham Hotspur will intensify their campaign against the club's

Opponents of the move will distribute 20,000 leaflets outside White Hart Lane while local businesses will display posters objecting to the plan.

The We Are N17 group is also organising a march along Tottenham High Road before the home game against Chelsea on December 12.

An online petition against "Stratford Hotspur" has 2,500 signatures. The protest is backed by Tottenham MP David Lammy, who has warned of the loss to the local economy if the club moves out, and is thought to have the support of several players.

Spurs executive director Sir Keith Mills, who is also vice chairman of the London 2012 organising committee, is thought to be the driving force behind the Olympic bid.

Tottenham are also exploring the redevelopment of White Hart Lane as a new 56,000-seat stadium.

Boris Johnson gave planning consent yesterday but Spurs are at loggerheads with the council over the cost.
