Steve McClaren in shock return to Dutch side Twente

Going Dutch again? Steve McClaren could return to Twente Enschede
11 April 2012

Former England manager Steve McClaren is being lined up for a sensational return to Dutch team Twente Enschede.

McClaren steered the club to their first title in 2010 before quitting for German side Wolfsburg.

The 50-year-old has been out of work since leaving Nottingham Forest in November after only 11 matches but is understood to have met Twente officials last week.

Present manager Co Adriaanse has only been in charge since June and the club are third in the table, five points behind leaders AZ Alkmaar. However, reports suggest relations between Adriaanse and his players and assistants have become strained.

McClaren was in charge of England for 16 months but was sacked after they failed to qualify for Euro 2008.
