'This is for Ugo' - Josh Onomah dedicates England U20s World Cup win to former Tottenham coach

Tottenham youngster Josh Onomah has dedicated England U20s World Cup win to Ugo Ehiogu.

The 20-year-old played a key role as the Young Lions were victorious in South Korea, beating Venezuela in Sunday's final.

Onomah and Kyle Walker-Peters were Tottenham's representatives, both coached by Ehiogu until the Under-23s manager suddenly passed away in April following a cardiac arrest.

The pair, along with many others, paid tribute to Ehiogu at the time, describing him as "a father figure", and now Onomah has remembered the man again as he celebrates the high point of his young career.

"We've been working for moments like this since we were knee high and to share this moment with [Walker-Peters] is a dream come true," he told the club's official website.

"This is for Ugo and everyone back at Spurs.

"Kyle earned his place in the team after not starting the first two games. I've always had confidence in him, he's so reliable in and out of possession. Credit to him for his performances throughout the tournament."

He added: "It was an unbelievable feeling, lost for words. It's something you dream of as a kid.

"Full credit to the players and staff and all the support back home for getting us here.

"It still hasn't sunk in but it was a moment I will never forget for the rest of my life."
