Tottenham return to Hotspur Way training ground for next stage of Premier League restart

1/29

Tottenham players have returned to training as plans continue to build towards a resumption of the Premier League season.

Top-flight clubs held a vote at a shareholders meeting on Monday, where it was unanimously agreed to resume training this week as part of phase one of ‘Project Restart’.

Players will be allowed to take part in non-contact training using socially-distant sessions lasting no more than 75 minutes for any one individual.

Defenders Juan Foyth and Serge Aurier, along with January signings Steven Bergwijn and Gedson Fernandes, are among those to have been pictured arriving at the club’s Hotspur Way training ground.

Jose Mourinho’s side sit eighth in the Premier League, facing a battle to secure European qualification, and were on a dismal run of six games without a win when the coronavirus shutdown kicked in.

The break has, however, allowed time for star forwards Harry Kane and Heung-min Son to return from injury, while the latter has also completed a period of mandatory military service in his native South Korea.
