Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio claims his club have made a formal offer to Tottenham for midfielder Christian Eriksen.
According to Sky in Italy, the Serie A side have submitted a bid of £11million plus add-ons in the hope of signing the Dane this month, rather than waiting until the summer, when he would be available as a free agent.
Antonio Conte is keen to strengthen his squad as they compete with Juventus for the Scudetto, and has already brought in Ashley Young from Manchester United, with Chelsea pair Victor Moses and Olivier Giroud also possible arrivals.
“We just made an official bid to Tottenham to sign Christian Eriksen and now we’re waiting,” Ausilio told Sky. “Many clubs are interested but we are confident - trying to get a top player like Eriksen.”

Ausilio’s comments are unlikely to go down well with Spurs boss Jose Mourinho, who has already been critical of the public nature of Inter’s pursuit.
"I think Antonio [said] it publicly...he is very positive that Eriksen is coming to Inter," Mourinho said on Saturday.
"I think we coaches should all behave in the same way in relation to transfers. I know that for you [the media] it is not the best way.
“But I think we should always be closed, until something really happens. So when you ask me about player A, B or C, how can I speak about three players that are not my players? I think we should always be protective [and say] nothing.”
