Tottenham host Newcastle at White Hart Lane this afternoon aiming to secure their first victory in three Premier League games.

Mauricio Pochettino's side have been held by both West Brom and Chelsea in recent weeks and will be keen to get back to winning ways at the expense of the Magpies.

Spurs sailed to an emphatic win over Monaco in midweek and several fringe players are now pushing for a place in the starting line-up after producing impressive performances against the Ligue 1 club.

The likes of Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen were rested on Thursday and Steve McClaren's side are likely to encounter a home side brimming with confidence given that the top-four is within reach.

Yet the threat of Newcastle should not be written off.

The Toon Army may be languishing in the relegation places but, as they proved against Liverpool, they are capable of an upset.
