Tottenham legend Glenn Hoddle paid an emotional tribute to Spurs’ Champions League heroics, saying, “I’m so glad I’m still around to see this.”

Mauricio Pochettino’s side produced one of the most remarkable comebacks in European history to knock out Ajax and reach the Champions League final.

A second-half hat-trick from Brazilian forward Lucas Moura saw Spurs come from 3-0 down on aggregate to draw 3-3 with the Dutch giants and advance to the Madrid showpiece on away goals, where they will face fellow English side Liverpool.

Hoddle, a life-long Spurs fan who played for the club for more than a decade, suffered a heart-attack on his 61st birthday last October after collapsing at the BT Sport studio.

He has gradually regained health and returned to punditry work with the channel in recent months, and after the game told presenter Gary Lineker: "I'm so glad I'm still around to see this.

"I've been a Tottenham fan since I was eight years old."
