Tottenham to investigate as Serge Aurier appears to break lockdown rules again with Instagram haircut photo

Tottenham are investigating another potential breach of lockdown guidelines by Serge Aurier after the defender's recent Instagram post showing off what appears to be a new haircut.

On Tuesday evening, Aurier posted a series of photos on Instagram of himself having just had a haircut, with the trim presumably taking place the day before Spurs returned to socially-distanced training at Hotspur Way.

The images show the defender in a Colombia shirt with another man, with Aurier tagging hairdresser Justin Carr in his post. With hairdressers in the UK closed until at least July given government rules on social distancing, receiving a haircut from somebody outside his immediate household would be a breach by Aurier.

Aurier's message alongside the photos reads: "Yes Sir @justscuts #LeCoiffeurEstBon", which translates to: "The hairdresser is good."

Aurier was pictured driving into Tottenham's Hotspur Way training base on Wednesday morning as players prepared to return to training - albeit in shortened, socially distanced sessions.

However, Aurier's apparent breach of guidelines would potentially leave his participation up in the air given Premier League players are required to undergo Covid-19 tests twice a week as they train ahead of a potential restart to the season.

Regarding Aurier's post, a Spurs spokesman told Standard Sport: "We are investigating the circumstances and will deal with the incident appropriately."

It would not be the first time that Aurier has breached the government's coronavirus guidelines.

Aurier and Moussa Sissoko issued a joint apology in April after flouting lockdown restrictions to train together.

Tottenham spoke to the two players after Aurier posted a series of now-deleted videos featuring himself and Spurs team-mate Sissoko on social media training together, with guidelines at the time restricting outdoor exercise to members of the same household.

Earlier that month, Spurs manager Jose Mourinho was forced to admit he was wrong to organise an impromptu one-on-one training session with Tanguy Ndombele in Barnet.
