Vincent Janssen was back among the goals for Tottenham on Sunday as the Spurs outcast scored his first goal for the club since April 2017.

Janssen made his first appearance for the club since August 2017 last Monday as the striker featured in Spurs' Under-23 clash against Liverpool.

And the Netherlands international started once again for the U23s on Sunday, scoring in Spurs' 1-1 Premier League 2 clash against London rivals West Ham.

West Ham went ahead through a Joe Powell penalty after 26 minutes, but Janssen tapped home an equaliser four minutes later before being substituted midway through the second half.

That goal marks the first time that Janssen has found the back of the net for any Spurs side since April 2017, when he scored in a 4-0 win over Bournemouth.

Janssen, 24, joined Spurs from Dutch side AZ in a £17million deal back but 2016, but scored just two goals in 24 Premier League appearances as he struggled to adapt to English football.

The Dutch forward spent the 2017-18 season on loan at Fenerbahce, but suffered a lengthy injury layoff which restricted his chances to impress in Turkey.

Spurs have been unable to offload the striker in recent transfer windows, and Janseen was not issued with a squad number for the 2018-19 campaign as he faced a further injury absence due to surgery for a football problem.
