Fernando Llorente has revealed he would be open to leaving Tottenham this summer, and would consider a return to Athletic Bilbao.

Reports claim the Spanish club, where Llorente spent 12 years before joining Juventus in 2013, are interested in a deal.

The 33-year-old has struggled to impress since his deadline day move to Spurs from Swansea last summer, with Heung-min Son preferred as the back-up to Harry Kane during his recent injury.

Llorente has started ten games under Mauricio Pochettino this season, with just one of those coming in the Premier League, and scored five in all competitions.

With a summer exit looking, the Spaniard has admitted a return to Bilbao would be of interest: “Athletic Club are my home and if they make an offer, a return could happen,” he said.

“I enjoyed many wonderful moments at the club that I will never forget and Athletic will always hold a special place in my heart.

“If they do make me a proposal to come back, then I would have to think about it and yes, maybe it could happen.”

Tottenham still have Vincent Janssen, who has spent the last season on loan with Fenerbahce, on their books should Llorente leave.
