The countdown to the January transfer window is officially on as we enter December.

The domestic summer window closed for Premier League clubs just six weeks ago but are already looking ahead to opportunities in the winter window.

Chelsea are ready to start talks with Bayern Munich over a move for David Alaba ahead of a free signing at the end of the season, reports AS, with the player reportedly appreciating Frank Lampard's interest.

Manchester City are, according to various outlets, edging closer towards a £17m deal for 17-year-old Estudiantes winger Dario Ariel Sarmiento for next summer.
