Tottenham forward Troy Parrott to miss Premier League restart after undergoing surgery to remove appendix

Tottenham have confirmed Troy Parrott has undergone surgery to remove his appendix and will miss the restart of the Premier League campaign.

The 18-year-old was taken to hospital after reporting stomach pain to the club's medical staff.

A statement from Tottenham read: "Troy Parrott has undergone surgery to remove his appendix.

"The young striker was found to have early signs of appendicitis after reporting abdominal pain to our medical staff. He will now undergo a period of recovery before commencing rehabilitation and returning to training later in June."

The Republic of Ireland has made two appearances off the bench for Spurs in the Premier League this term, making has full debut in the Carabao Cup against Colchester.

Spurs are set to resume their campaign against Manchester United over the period of June 19-22. Jose Mourinho's side are four points off the top four but will be boosted by the returns of Harry Kane and Heung-min Son, who are set to return to full group training on Monday.
